Family Vacation No. 01

Its been a while, but we owe it to little Audrey to at least post something... we had to let go of our previous "head writer" as well as the head of the "creative department" - times are tough - so we have asked our 11 yr old neighbor to step in and update our blog. please lower your expectations and try to enjoy...

Since our last post, circa 2009 or so, we jumped off the high dive and took a family vacation with two-yr old twins and a 4 month old... we expected it to go horribly but thought it was important to do it anyway. We packed up the crew, two strollers, three suitcases, a playpen, an umbrella, a months worth of diapers, too many toys, a baby swing and a jumper-roo and headed to San Diego for a few days in September. The end result was a fun vacation, easy car ride and 3 happy kids that were bored by Shamu. FYI - the shamu show is LAME since one of the trainers was mauled - but Sea World is still great.

Ethan loved the penguin exhibit

Shawn loved the sharks - perhaps this is a "scared out of his mind - yet excited" look

Apparently, we as a family are incapable of remembering to take a family photo at a particular destination. perhaps because we know it will not turn out, but sad none-the-less. we also have NO foresight and appear to have all photos at sea world with the backs of our kids heads... sorry guys, hopefully we excel in other areas.

We stayed on Mission Beach, right on the Boardwalk. Highly recommend the location, cheap stay, perfect location, great weather

- the only downside is a giant (sewer?) pipe on the beach - but the boys loved climbing on it...

Little Audrey was a trooper - she had a great time and slept really well.

But the boys got to see the beach and the ocean for the first time and that was great to watch - the boys got to play in the largest sandbox ever.

Here is to more vacations - a first of many.
